Engineered Hardwood FlooringHardwood Flooring Installation

Hardwood flooring is known for its natural beauty and lasting durability. It is a great flooring option and cleanup is a breeze.  Hardwood floors are the perfect combination of strength and style for homes with children and pets.  Highland Hardwood Flooring can handle any type of hardwood flooring installation. With today’s wide variety of colors, textures, species, and styles we can help you find the perfect hardwood to match your home decor.

There are two types of hardwood floors on the market.

ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOORING:

Made from real hardwood, the cross-ply construction of engineered wood flooring resists expansion and contraction from humidity changes. It is made up of layers where the top layer is 100% natural wood. The bottom layer is also wood and in the middle is a core built from 5 to 7 layers of plywood that crisscross in different directions. Engineered construction creates a highly stable core that is less likely to expand, contract or shift when exposed to moisture, humidity, and temperature. Engineered hardwood floors are a  great option for rooms that are subject to moisture or over a concrete slab and radiant heating systems. They can be installed below, on or above grade.

SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING:

Each plank is a solid piece of wood from the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods. Hardwood floors are best installed on or above grade. Many homeowners prefer solid hardwood flooring because it is timeless, durable, and can be refinished and stained again. Each plank is constructed of 100% hardwood and is a single solid piece of wood. Solid hardwood flooring is an investment that will enhance the value of your home and provide beauty that lasts a lifetime.
